In comparisom to the desktop housing supplied with the Coordinator, the antenna is on the opposite side of the connections. Converting the coordinator is easy: Simply loosen the four screws at the bottom of the desktop housing, remove the circuit board, install the antenna adapter and light tunnels (LEDs) in the new housing using the supplied cod.m wrench, transfer the circuit board to the new housing and screw it in place. Achtung: Aktuell gibt es Problem der Firmware des Moduls wodurch beim Neustarten des Raspberry Pi Geräte neu "anounced" bzw. "gepaired" werden müssen. Wir diskutieren im Homegear-Forum bereits die Gründe und suchen nach einer Lösung.Update: Wir haben eine Lösung gefunden. Attention: There's currently an issue with the firmware of the module. On a reboot of the Pi the CC2538 can loose all it's known devices which must then be repaired/reanounced. Zusammen mit einer externen Antenne ist damit eine sehr weiträumige Abdeckung möglich - natürlich abhängig von den baulichen Gegebenheiten.Durch das Umlöten eines Widerstands kann genauso die vorhandene PCB-Antenne genutzt werden, die für lokale Anwendungen ausreichend ist aber eben auch störanfälliger. Der CC2538 als ZigBee-Coordinator hat gegenüber dem CC2530 den Vorteil, dass an ihm massiv mehr Geräte direkt am Coordinator angelernt werden können (100 gegenüber 10) und mehr Routen (100 gegenüber 40) hinterlegt werden können.Die Anzahl der "direct children" bestimmt im einem ZigBee-Mesh aber nicht die maximale Größe der Installation. The ZigBee Long Range Router is a standalone solution for extending the range of your own ZigBee installation. Based on the EByte E18-MS1PA1-IPX, a board with voltage regulator and micro USB connector was developed in a self-designed 3D printed housing. The module contains a CC2530 ZigBee microcontroller which is preceded by a CC2592 PA/LNA range extender to increase the possible radio range.By the possibility of connecting an external antenna, one can optimise the own application and possibly existing reception problems.Due to its higher range and flexibility, the ZigBee Long Range Router can also bring inaccessible places into the ZigBee mesh.
